Battery Research Scientist

The role

As our new Battery Research Scientist you will be jointly responsible for the development of battery active materials by innovation in materials and processes. You will contribute to developmental projects involving silicon anodes and next-generation solid-state electrolytes. You will play an important role in the process of expanding our lab facilities. Since we are in the early stages of development, there is a lot of room for creativity. The role also involves close collaboration with research institutes and universities.


What you will do

Working in close contact within our technology team, your main responsibilities are:

  • To help develop battery active materials using for example Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD);
  • To determine the physical or electrochemical properties of the materials;
  • To relate the properties of the material to the process parameters;
  • Write technical reports and presents progress on planned milestones;
  • Discuss with experts on the results.


Desired profile

You have:

  • A bachelor or masters degree in engineering or science, preferably a background in chemistry/physics;
  • Preferably several years experience in the field of (solid-state) Li-ion batteries;
  • Affinity for experimental lab work;
  • Hands-on, innovative, communicative, a fast learner;
  • Strong analytical and communication skilled;
  • Team-focused and pragmatic;
  • An out of the box thinker;
  • Comfortable in fast-paced environments;
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written);
  • Excellent in MS-Office.
