The role

We’re seeking a Battery Scientist to join our rapidly expanding team. In this role, you’ll be dedicated to designing and evaluating battery cells and components, with a special emphasis on advanced silicon anode in various cell chemistries and formats. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in the field of Lithium-ion batteries, demonstrating a robust analytical approach and a strong foundation in electrochemistry.

The role will also involve upgrading and maintaining our electrochemical testing infrastructure. Familiarity with the different coating technologies and large-scale battery manufacturing processes is advantageous. Knowledge of operando/in-situ electrochemical characterization will also be highly valued.


What you will do

Working in close contact within our technology team, your main responsibilities are:

  • Design and evaluate battery cells and components in various cell chemistries and formats;
  • Utilizing techniques such as (but not limited to) cycling voltammetry, galvanostatic charge-discharge, and impedance spectroscopy;
  • To relate the electrochemical properties of the material to the production process parameters;
  • Write technical reports and presents progress on planned milestones;
  • Discuss with experts on the results.

Desired profile

You have:

  • A MSc. or PhD degree in engineering or science, preferably a background in chemistry/physics;
  • A proven track record in the field of Lithium-ion batteries, demonstrating a robust analytical approach;
  • Strong foundation in electrochemistry;
  • Expertise in comprehensive electrochemical testing of battery cells and components;
  • Proficiency in correlating electrochemical behavior with the physical and chemical properties of battery materials;
  • Experienced in electrode/electrolyte formulations and pouch cell assembly;
  • Hands-on, innovative, communicative, a fast learner;
  • Strong analytical and communication skilled;
  • Team-focused and pragmatic;
  • An out of the box thinker;
  • Comfortable in fast-paced environments;
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written);
  • Excellent in MS-Office.
